This hunting destination, the country to the east of South Africa and Zimbabwe, was formerly know, in colonial times, as Portuguese East Africa, is developing quickly. The hunting industry is growing and more and more possibilities are opening up in this country’s large areas of wilderness. Buffalo is the most sought after species, but it is also possible to hunt other attractive species such as sable, waterbuck, bushbuck, crocodile as well as elephant and leopard. If you wish to hunt for leopard, elephant together with a range of attractive antelope species, it is necessary to book a 14 day hunt.
Every morning the hunt starts out from camp in a specialised all terrain vehicle (an Argo), but when you localised the game you want to hunt, the stalk will proceed on foot. You should be prepared for stalks that may last several hours. When hunting buffalo, it is not unusual to take your shot from very close range, which makes this hunt very exciting indeed. Normally you will hunt from early morning until nightfall. Lunch is usually eaten out in the hunting district.

Here the game animals have a perfect habitat, and a lot of effort has been made in combating poaching in the district. he total population of buffalo in this huge area is over 20,000, while in Coutada 14 the population is between...

During this time the restrictive shooting policies and the focus on game management (read anti-poaching measures) are now really bearing fruit, the annual quota of 50 buffalo representing the reaping of some of the profits.
