With a partnership that has been ongoing since 1978, Zmigrod is not only our oldest but also one of the most renowned hunting areas in Poland. The district spans 27,284 hectares, of which 11,202 hectares are forest, while the remaining 16,082 hectares include agricultural land, meadows, lakes, and wetland areas. The forests in Zmigrod consist of 64% coniferous forest, 14% oak forest, and 14% alder trees. The area is mostly flat. Zmigrod has 167 high seats, as well as 40 feeding places. Up to 6 hunters can hunt at a time on individual hunts, while driven hunts are organized for groups of 10-14 hunters.
The district is home to an excellent wildlife population—here you will find roe deer, red deer, fallow deer, wild boar, and a variety of ducks and geese. Every year, around 95 bucks are harvested, with a very good trophy quality and excellent opportunities for bucks from 350 grams and upwards. The annual red deer quota is 65 stags, most of them with a trophy weight of 5-7 kg, but strong red deer stags over 8 kg are also shot. Approximately 28 fallow stags are harvested each hunting season, and these are nice Polish fallow stags ranging from 2.20 to 3.50 kg. There are also wild boars in Zmigrod. Due to the swine fever, the population had been significantly reduced, but it is now on the rise again. We offer 3 driven hunts, which typically produce very good results with a good mix of all types of game, and the district expects hunters to take shots at the game that presents itself.
Accommodation is provided in the district’s hunting lodge, from where, during the rutting season in September, hunters can hear the roars of the stags right outside the house. The guest area on the first floor includes 1 single room, 4 double rooms, 3 triple rooms, and 1 quadruple room. A refrigerator is available for the guests' use. On the lower floor, there is a cozy lounge with a fireplace, as well as a dining room. There is access to a locked garage and cold storage. The hunting manager, Franciszek Matysiak, speaks a little German. He and his hunting guides are very professional and highly regarded among our clients. Wi-Fi and mobile coverage are available.
Zmigrod is located 200-260 km from the Forst/Olszyna border crossing—depending on the route taken—which corresponds to about a 3-hour drive. It is 60 km from Wroclaw, the nearest larger city, and 75 km from Wroclaw Airport, the nearest international airport. Wroclaw is a very interesting city and definitely worth a visit, especially if you have spare time during the roe deer hunting season.
