Scientific Name: Capra caucasica

Distribution: Western Caucasus.
Habitat: High altitude pastures above the tree line in summer, lower in winter.
Description: Wild goat weighing up to 100 kg and measuring up to 1 meter over the shoulder. It reaches a total body length of 1,40 m without tail (15 cm). General colour yellowish brown. The horns are large, heavily built, ridged. They point upwards, outwards, then backwards, downwards and inwards. The horns are similar to those of the Alpine Ibexes.
Hunting method: Stalking, on horseback.
