Distribution: Oman, Duru and Wahiba. Formerly all over the Arabian Peninsula. Reintroduced from USA in 1980 into Oman, Jidda Valley, Jordan and Iraq.
Habitat: Dry semi-desert and desert.
Description: Oryx antelope weighing up to 80 kg and measuring up to 1,05 m over the shoulder. General colour white with light brown legs and brown markings on the face. The antlers are long, narrow and point almost straight upwards.
Hunting method: Stalking with horses. Today the animal is protected by law.
