Distribution: South Africa, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia, Angola, Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda and Congo (Zaire)
Habitat: Open bush and Acacia savanna
Description: The three species are here descriped as on as the difference in appearance is negligent (Angola Impala has a black stripe on the face, the East African Impala a larger body and bigger trophy). Middlesized antelope with a weight of around 70 kg. and a shoulderheight of up to 100 cm. General colour bright rufous fawn on the back, paler on the flanks and white underparts. The horns are long, slender and very graceful, lyrate, S-shaped, curving upwards as they spread.
Hunting method: Pursch, lying in wait or tracking with trackers
