Roebuck hunting in Romania is a story in itself. Here it is possible to set yourself just the level of challenge that you desire.
The hunting takes place as “Spot and Stalk”, which involves you and your guide stalking through the beautiful terrain trying to see if you can find a good roebuck and take it by surprise.
The animals that you will be given the chance of shooting are outstanding, and it is often possible to bag a fully mature buck of over 5 years of age.
There is a very selective shooting policy, which with the low quotas that each district is assigned, ensures that many medal winning trophies are produced (for example: a district of 8,500ha will have a quota of 24 bucks = 1 buck per 350ha. - and this is not done because there aren’t many roe deer in the area). Therefore if you have the desire to bag a roebuck of the very highest calibre - then you must visit Romania. The best time to find one of the very big bucks is just after the season opening.
Season: 1/5 - 15/9
Best: the first 14 days of the season and during the rut, which is typically at the end of July and the beginning of August.

Here you can enjoy the good local cuisine, which is very similar to the type of food you might be familiar with in Poland. It is of course also possible to upgrade to a hotel of manor house - upon payment of a modest supplement. But you must also budget for the extra driving involved to reach...
